A “bio” resin is not only a plant-based and renewable resin; it is above all a resin derived from “plant waste.” Platex bio-based glycols or resins are made from waste materials. Only waste can be used to make bio-based resins : beet leaves and other plant waste, such as corn leaves and potato peels, serve as raw materials.

Petrochemical resin is replaced by a natural resin. Using waste means that this crop requires 0 water, 0 pesticides, 0 toxic agents, and therefore 0 resources dedicated to it. Resources go to the main crop, the “fruit” in the case of the beet. Today, our polyester contains 50% bio-based resin.
